How does the Cause / Charity receive the funds?
The majority of Causes/Charities we have selected for a PoM Donation campaign receive funds via the PayPal Giving Fund (PPGF) as our partner. This means that the funds go from the PoM store to PPGF ... and PPGF then sends the funds to the Charity.
For now the PoM team has chosen three (3) charities, see more on the "Why we like to donate?" page.
- Alzheimer’s Society ... gives help + hope to everyone living with dementia.
- DIRT Charity ... that works to regenerate soil.
- Seven Clean Seas ... is removing plastic from our oceans.

When our PoM shop is fundraising for a charity, the online store is officially fundraising for the PayPal Giving Fund UK to benefit our chosen Charity/Charities.
There are causes that receive funds directly from our PoM store or in other ways outside of the PayPal Giving Fund - these are World Bicycle Relief, Action Mental Health, Just One Tree, littlelifts, Rainbow Railroad, 7 Clean Seas, DIRT, Global Tree Planting projects, Plastic Offsetting Initiatives, British Ukrainian Aid and MenTalkHealthUK.
In some cases, e.g. RNLI, World Land Trust, Woodland Trust and the Rainforest Foundation receive funds manually into their bank account.
How do we work with PayPal Giving Fund?
As the PoM team likes to focus on its core-competence (digital content creation) we partner for the technical part (integration of the donation system into the PoM shop) with Virtue in U.K. - Virtue for us is the official representative and partner of PayPal Giving Fund.
!! Rec.: Virtue on its own does not charge charity organisations for its operating costs with fees which are covered by Virtue's own partners !!
With our support for Causes and Charities via the Virtue system the PoM store is officially raising funds for PayPal Giving Fund to benefit our chosen Charities and Causes. - This means that the donations first go to PayPal Giving Fund who then send the donation to the Cause/Charity.
Are there any fees associated with my donation?
There are a couple of fees associated with the donation that are important to know about.
The PoM customer donations are a subject to standard product sale fees set by the eCommerce payment provider our customer has chosen. - This fee is deducted from the donation before it goes to Charity. It is typically 0-2.5%.
In addition:
The PayPal Giving Fund (PPGF) donations to over 20,000 of Charities (in partnership with Virtue) are raised for the PayPal Giving Fund to benefit the selected Charity. The PPGF deducts 1.4% + 20p from the donations as a transition fee before these donations are sent via PPGF to the Charities we have selected for you in the PoM shop.
But as aleady mentioned: When we dedice to support either World Bicycle Relief, Action Mental Health, Just One Tree, littlelifts, Rainbow Railroad, 7 Clean Seas, DIRT, Global Tree Planting projects, Plastic Offsetting Initiatives, British Ukrainian Aid or MenTalkHealthUK - donations are received by these organisations directly.
Yet for now, the PoM team has not fixed any special agreements with any of the pre-selected Charity organisations where donations go to the Charity directly into their bank account. - We will inform you asap if this should be the case.
